Holiday Gift Ideas for Your Dog: Top 4 Things on Our Wish List

The holiday season is just around the corner and while you’re making your holiday gift list, don’t forget to include something special for your four-legged family members! Our furry friends bring so much joy into our lives. What better way to show them a little extra love than with a new toy or a tasty holiday treat? From new gear, comfy beds, and toys for interactive play. Here are the top 4 gift ideas on my holiday wish list this year for our husky pack.

1. Durable Gear for Everyday Adventures

Our active lifestyle requires durable gear for everyday activities and mountain adventures. The Ruffwear Crag Dog Leash has been my absolute favorite dog leash and we have two of them. I can adjust it to wear around my waist for dog walks, runs with Katara and Asher, or a quick tie-up outside for coffee shop runs. This year it’s time for a replacement since I have worn Asher’s out after multi-year use. The second item on our gear wishlist is a new collar for Katara. The two big husky brothers lent us some hand-me-down items for Katara in her puppy stages, but she’s ready to grow into her own adult gear. The Miles Tactical Cobra Buckle Dog Collar is on our gift list this year. This durable collar is used by both of our older huskies and comes quite handy when managing the inevitable pull of excitement towards a rabbit or a squirrel on our daily walks.

2. Cozy Beds for Restful Sleep

A pack of three requires multiple areas to sleep and since Katara has grown a lot in the past year we haven’t had a designated place for her to catch some zzz’s outside of her crate. Now that she’s getting closer to her adult size it’s time for us to invest in her own bed so she stops taking over her brothers’. I fell in love with the Pendleton Collection Crater Lake National Park Dog Bed a couple of years ago and this stylish dog bed is still at the top of my pet gift list. Also on our list is a replacement cover for our Coolaroo Elevated Dog Bed which took some damage from Katara’s destructive chewing habits (learn more on how to manage your dog’s chewing behavior in my article “Mastering Chewing Behavior”).

3. Interactive Toys for Mental Stimulation

I am always looking for new ideas for interactive play and mental stimulation for our dogs. Since huskies are incredibly smart and curious creatures, they can get easily bored with the same collection of toys and need new forms of stimulation. I prefer to cycle through our puzzle toys to keep the dogs engaged which means adding interactive toys to our gift list this year was a no-brainer. The Kong Gyro Treat Dispensing Dog Toy and the Hound Games Dog Puzzle Toy are our must-haves for holiday gifts this season to keep the dogs happy and entertained.

4. Tasty Treats for Holiday Festivities

The holidays are filled with the enjoyment of tasty treats, so why not include our furry friends as well? I’ll never miss a chance to spoil our huskies and the holidays provide some fun and festive options for the dogs to enjoy. Since not all table scraps are safe for our furry friends, we’ll be using Zuke’s Mini Naturals Trees Dogs Training Treats to include the dogs in our holiday meals and give them a tasty treat to enjoy. My other wish list items include Jack&Pup 6-Inch Braided Collagen Sticks and Jack&Pup 6-Inch Beef Marrow Bones to keep the dogs occupied and happy during our family festivities.

This holiday season is a great time to show our pets the joy and love that we experience from them every day. Add some extra pet-related items to your holiday gift list and spoil your pup during this festive season. You’re bound to get some extra tail wags and puppy kisses from your furry friend!
